Marketing our books, music and art requires social networking skills many of us do not use when creating our art. Authors have always complained about having to be booksellers, and artists and musicians have done their share of begging/performing on streets for small change. Many of us have created writing-on-demand, played background music at weddings, birthday parties, bat mitzvahs and bar mitzvahs, or sketched passersby on street corners. It has never been easy to make a good living from one’s own art. At least not until we are well-connected and famous. But there is one golden rule: “NEVER GIVE UP!”
